Why PC won't sleep ? Windows problems and solutions

If your PC does not fall asleep, it is often because a device is configured to take it out of standby mode when it is activated. Identify the culprit by pressing the Windows key and [R], type "cmd" and press [Enter].

Type the following line and press [Enter]: powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

Now press the Windows key and [R] again, but this time type "devmgmt.msc" to open the Device Manager. Find the devices listed above, then double-click on them and look for an Advanced tab or Power Management.

Check if the device can take the PC out of standby mode; if it is, uncheck all the boxes that activate it. Click OK, close the Device Manager and prove that it worked; Repeat the process if necessary.
