Oppo's two new phones Find X2 and Find X2 Pro have what it takes to put pressure on Samsung, Huawei and Apple. But do they really succeed? Here you can find all information about specs, prices and market launch.

Oppo is a large Chinese smartphone manufacturer that belongs to the same parent company as Vivo and OnePlus. In contrast to OnePlus, Oppo is not yet an established brand in Germany, as the company is only just getting onto the German market with its products. At the top of the portfolio are the two newly launched flagship phones Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. They have a lot to offer, but also a big problem!

Before we go into detail, you will find the specifications here in a direct comparison with the two top models Galaxy S20 + and S20 Ultra from Samsung (in hands-on):

These are the two new flagships Find X2 and Find X2 Pro

Design and display: Oppo launches two very elegant smartphones. Both the Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro have a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent. Means: The front consists almost only of the 6.7-inch OLED display, the edges are particularly thin. In both versions, the housing is made of glass or ceramic. The Find X2 Pro is also available with a "vegan" leather back. So plastic that looks like leather. Incidentally, the "unfortunately back" is only available in orange, the ceramic housing of the X2 Pro in black. With Find X2 you can choose between the black (ceramic) and blue (glass).

Oppo does not hide the front camera in a pop-up camera like its Reno models. Instead, the selfie cam on the Find X2 and X2 Pro sits directly on the display - like the Galaxy S20 series. However, on the left side and not in the middle.

120 Hertz at QHD +: Samsung equips its S20 series with 120 Hertz displays. Oppo also relies on this high refresh rate. However, the two Oppo phones can also handle 120 Hertz at full resolution of QHD + (3168 x 1440 pixels), the S20 models only support 120 Hertz up to a maximum of Full HD +. A maximum of 60 Hertz is possible with QHD +.

Find X2 Pro comes with a periscope telephoto camera

Like the Galaxy S20 Ultra, among others, the top model Find X2 Pro offers a periscope zoom camera. The camera goes around the corner to increase the focal length. This allows you to use a 10x hybrid zoom (a combination of optical and digital zoom) and digitally you can even enlarge motifs by 60x. The camera of the Find X2 is a "normal" telecamera, which has a 5x hybrid zoom and can magnify up to 20x digitally. The main camera has 48 megapixels each, but the Find X2 Pro's image sensor is larger. Both smartphones also have an ultra-wide-angle camera.

Battery with extremely fast charging

The batteries are 4200 and 4260 mAh. What is special is that the batteries and power supplies support SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge. You can safely charge mobile phones with a whopping 65 watts! A Find X2 Pro is fully charged in just 38 minutes! It's really fast, the competition can't keep up. We are really looking forward to the runtime, which we will of course check in our detailed test.

Other equipment: Android 10 and 5G

Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro come with Android 10 from the factory. Both also use the fast 5G mobile radio standard. Oppo also equips the two models with 12 GB RAM. The internal memory of 256 GB on the Find X2 and 512 GB on the Find X2 Pro is unfortunately not expandable. There is also no dual SIM function. The X2 is IP58 waterproof, the X2 Pro has IP68 certification. Memory of 256 GB for the Find X2 and 512 GB for the Find X2 Pro is unfortunately not expandable. There is also no dual SIM function. Price and market launch

Oppo will launch its Find X2 series in early May 2020. The Find X2 comes in black and blue and will be on the store shelves at a price of 999 euros MSRP. The Find X2 Pro has a price tag of 1199 euros RRP.

The problem of the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro

Oppo equips its new, new flagship models extremely well. In many places - when looking at the data sheet - it can keep up with or even surpass a Galaxy S (Ultra) if we think of the display, which can do 120 Hertz even at full resolution. However, dual SIM and expandable memory are missing. Oppo demands just as much as memory for its two top phones. Oppo demands just as much as Samsung for its two top phones. Samsung has been one of the best-known smartphone manufacturers on the German market for tens of years. Oppo, however, is a still unknown brand for most people in Germany. In our opinion, the price mark should therefore be set too high. If two products from different manufacturers cost the same amount, most users will probably choose the manufacturer they know, instead of trying a new brand for a lot of money.
