The Mercedes-AMG GT (C190) is a 2-door 2-seater fixed-head coupe produced by Mercedes-AMG. The sports car is presented on 9. The GT's exterior has been kept the design similar to the previous SLS AMG. It has the wide wheel arches and the lower body shell of the SLS, but not has his gull-wing doors. The large hood and the slim windscreen have also remained the same. The outer lead designer Mark Fetherston, whose previous works include the W176 A-class, CLA-class and the SLS. The interior, designed by Jan Kaul, has a large center console and decorative elements in leather-and carbon-polymer design.The trunk offers space for a medium-sized suitcase.

The structure of the vehicle is made of 93% aluminum, wherein the front module base is made of magnesium.

The GT uses a front-mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, with the engine in the interior of the vehicle wheelbase. The space-frame chassis and body shell are made from aluminum alloys, while the trunk lid is made of steel and the engine bonnet magnesium. The suspensions are double wishbone and knuckle arms front and rear, with forged aluminum transverse.

The car is powered by a front mid-mounted motor M178 4-Liter twin-turbo V8. This new V8 is in "hot inside V" configuration—with exhaust and turbochargers inside the cylinder to reduce the banks turbo hole and used a dry-sump lubrication. Power transmission to the rear wheels through a transaxle 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch; the GT-S model uses an electronically-controlled mechanical limited-slip differential.In a road test run by car and driver, the GT S accelerates from 0-60 km / h in 3.0 seconds and the quarter-mile ran in 11.2 seconds.


A new high-performance variant of the GT was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on the 24. June, 2016. It has the same 4.0 L twin-Turbo V8 engine (M178) used in the GT and GT S, but with the performance of 430 kW; 577 HP) increased to 585 HP (and torque is increased to 700 N·m (520 lb·ft). The GT-R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 320 km/h (200 mph).
