This creates an account whose access to applications can be carefullycontrolled and monitored. You can set up your restrictions by opening System Preferences, clicking on Parental Contrals, and then impose restrictions on an account-by-account basis. Only an administratorcan set up Parental Contrals in this way.


Sharing Only 



With a Sharing Only account, another user on your network can share specific files and folders that you've chosen to share without physically logging in, but cannot make changes.lt's useful in an office, but unlikelyto be necessary on a family Mac.


Creating a New Account

***Now you are famifiar with the differing eccount types, we will teach you how to set up your own user account. 


Step 1

To create a new account first click the Apple menu in the top left of the screen, then select System
Preferences. Locate and click the Users & Groups icon in the System section to open the Users &
Groups window.



Step 2 

Click the padlock at the bottom left; this will allow you to make changes. As an extra security measure you will be asked to input your admin credentials at this point.



Step 3 

 Now you have the correct permissions, click on the '+' syrnboljust above the padlock to bring up the
new account details window. Enter the name of the account user, give them a password, and then click on Create User.




Step 4

 The new account is now ready to use. If a Standard account is used, an administrator can access
this account in the Users & Groups preference and give it Administrator privileges, or subject it to parental controls at alater date. Click the lock to prevent further changes; an administrator can
open it again if need be.
